Real world research involves interaction with human beings or subjects . Human subjects can be harmed; hence there are ethical standards and guidelines. Indeed, we have professional code of ethics governing our activities as sociologists. In addition, tri-council working group provides standardized set of ethical norms that transcend disciplinary boundaries.
