Survey reserch is the method, where as the questionnaire is the instrument (important distinction) Can include interviews (diff from qualitative interviews: also include questions on phone, or can be self administered - you get questionnaire and you fill it out yourself. Self-classification: allows people to self classify. Knowledge: purpose is always to collect knowledge. Cross-sectional study: a study that takes place at a single point in time. Snapshot of state of affairs at a moment in time: only do it at one point.
