Canada is seen as a country of immigrants". Immigrate for a number of reasons: want things that we take for granted (i. e passport, want to walk streets with less fear. Why canada: healthcares, education, clean tap water, etc. Immigrants do not steal jobs, however they create jobs in canada. Multiculturalism most canadians don"t know if it"s what they have, need to have or what they want. First nations are the only group in canada that are not part of this multiculturalism: english and french of canada also claim this. Some immigrants come for economic reasons (principle group). Those who resemble the mainstream will fit in more seamlessly than those who don"t. No discussion of immigrants can ignore cultural difference: 58% of canadians said that canada takes in too many immigrants.
