Canadians students do very well educationally (b"s -a"s) on a wide variety of performances relative to students of other high income countries. Ascribed status such as people"s gender, age or racialized/ethnic status, and the geographical region where they live have a significant effect on educational outcomes. Children and youth from disadvantaged schools performs very well relative to children and youth from advantaged schools. Canada gets an a" rating, rated 16th in high income countries. Disadvantaged schools are those with a high proportion of students who have mothers with less than high school education. Advantaged schools are those with a high proportion of students whose mothers have tertiary education. Bullying: when one or more people tease, hurt, or upset a weaker person on purpose, it is also bullying when someone is left out on purpose. 32% of grade 7 students reported bullying others.
