Being literature is a tool for communicating messages. Imitation game, at high end of communication. Any computer code, the language is in and of itself. His thinking has been very criticized: lack of empirical evidence, inappropriate methodology, didn"t know the history, lack of rigour. Hieroglyphs: systems very different but beginnings of conveying information over time and space. A lot of peoples traditions and cultures were only passed on through storytelling. In a literate society, theres al logical movement of idea. important to liberate societies. 1. primary: everything that existed before written communications in oral society. 2. secondary: post integrating oral and literal society. Talking orally but often point of reference should be a text. E. g. of polychronic time: work environment. while writing, check messages. at least 2 screens. Oral has slow community change. have oral bias and will remain in the same for long time. Literate: space bias. knowledge is power. with space is bias.
