Gender seems to be so invisible. part of who we are and social world doesn"t really think of gender. Assume pink phones are for women. gender technology shouldn"t be a pink phone gender and sexuality: Technology changed the social roles of men and women. The house is the domain of women and work is the domain for men. Women used to make candles and now we buy them. the industrial revolution changed it all. Sex: think of male and female as mutually exclusive. this is not the biological reality. Often use gender to refer to social constructed roles that are out side of binary. Gender: expected way to act based on your sex. Through parenting, continue to feed stereotypes to our kids. Gender expectations are put on you before you are even born. Caitlyn jenner: seeing a switch in gender which was unexpected for most of us due to her former success.
