Scandinavian countries usually do really well - because of lower levels of inequality. Children from lower income families tend to have more conflict amongst each other- more competition. Countries with low levels of income inequality tend to have low levels of homicides. Life expectancy tends to decline with inequality. In the states, there is a large low - middle class and a small higher class -> thus why we have these numbers despite the fact that there are individuals who are healthy and have a high life expectancy. Individuals in more equal (and collectivist) societies seem happier than those in highly unequal ( and individualistic societies) Individuals in equal (and collectivist) societies more likely to vote: where people have a stronger sense of community.
