What are some of the stereotypes do people hold about younger people: some have high expectations that are not always realistic. How does this affect the perception of who would be a good worker for certain types of jobs. Examines development and experiences over the course of a lifetime and infancy through to old age. Places significant emphasis on key life events and cohort effects. Takes into consideration (time, context and process) School to work transition: some sort of transition between school in to career. Set of events where individuals who finish their education embark on their working careers. Transition from school to work in our generation is different then in the past: significant changes, traditional life course expectation. People complete high school, into the paid labour force. Since about 1980s/1990s the traditional life course has changed. Now there is a discontinuous and difficult for younger cohorts. Todays youth is spending more time in school.
