Puzzling because there isn"t a medical safety issue that could explain why women participated at such low rates: look at the composition of research samples of psych studies over 20 years. Human studies: purple zone represents % of studies that had both genders. 2nd last behavioral studies they have much higher % of both genders in representative sample. Gender: talking about differences that have predominantly social/ cultural basis: result from learning, e. g. difference in how men and women are expected to dress within a given culture, culturally transmitted customs.
