For example, you would pass by each other often if you live beside the stairs or beside a mail box: limitations of propinquity: initial dislike made worse with more contact. Theories of attraction: evolutionary: reproduction is more costly for females, so they must consider carefully when and with whom to reproduce. These costs should also cause women to prefer men who can provide resources and support for their children: age and health affect a woman"s ability to reproduce. Men should respond to the physical appearance more so than women: certain physical characteristics signal reproductive fitness such as clear skin, facial symmetry, waist-to-hip ration, arousal, two-factor theory: feelings of love consist of general physiological arousal (ex. Fear, anxiety), and a label for that arousal (maybe i like this person?). Arousal is simply a burst of energy that adds to the fuel of attraction.
