Kicking in babies assist in building muscles to be able to support legs and begin walking. Feet are easier to control than arms because there is a more limited range of movement. Figuring out the muscle pattern for control of arms is more difficult than legs. Cruising walking with holding on to steady them. Early walking small steps, feet wide apart. Although many of his ideas were wrong, many were correct or helpful. Tested ideas on his own children or neighbours children. Piaget"s theory motivated the whole field of cognitive development. Piaget"s theory of cog(cid:374)itive develop(cid:373)e(cid:374)t a stage theory. 4 stages represent qualitatively different from other stages. Stages are not more or less but totally different.
