If asked to draw clock, will remember 1-12 but put them all on right hand side. Selective attention: dichotic listening, wear headphones and listened to different input in each ear. Instructed to pay attention to one of these inputs (attended channel) and ignore messages in other ear (unattended channel: shadowing, attended channel contained recording of someone speaking, and are asked to repeat word for word as they"re listening. Study: participants told they would see large + shapes on computer screen, presented for 200ms, followed by pattern mask, press one button if horizontal line is longer, other button if vertical line is longer. Some asked to fixate on fixation target on center of screen, + shapes shown on the side.
