Intro: sex is more than just heterosexual intercourse, scientists think of sexual development as a process that occurs throughout the lifespan. Life span development: the study of sexuality throughout the course of our lives. Data sources: most of the data comes from surveys, self-report therefore may be subject to biases, memory errors, alternative; interviews or observation, obviously not done often, this leads to the idea that children are not sexual beings. Infancy and the preschool years: birth 4: freud was first to express that children have sexual urges and engage in sexual behaviours, the capacity of the body to show a sexual response is present from birth.
