At the ehart of health psychology is the biopsychosocial model. Biomedical model medicine; illness solely as biological processes. Biopsychosocial model look at genetic predisposition, psychological aspects of it. The mind, body and social environment biopsychosocial. Mind-body dualism = mind and body function independently but they may interact. Freud was one of the first to link the mind and the body to explain conversion. Now are very involved in this type of therapy and research.
