Investigated whether women have evolved a presence for men who show parental in- vestment. For both top 3: mutual attraction, dependability, emotional stability. For men: physical attractiveness; health are rated important. For women: earning potential, status, ambitiousness are rated important. Matching hypothesis: people of similar levels of physical attractiveness gravitate towards each other, however, men can sometimes trade attractiveness for resources, evolutionary explanations. Cooperation: situations in which one individual helos another and in so doing also gains some advantage. Adaptive advantage clear - groups could accomplish more together than they could alone.
