Investigated whether women have evolved a presence for men who show parental in- vestment. For both top 3: mutual attraction, dependability, emotional stability. For men: physical attractiveness; health are rated important. For women: earning potential, status, ambitiousness are rated important. Matching hypothesis: people of similar levels of physical attractiveness gravitate towards each other, however, men can sometimes trade attractiveness for resources, evolutionary explanations. Cooperation: situations in which one individual helos another and in so doing also gains some advantage. Adaptive advantage clear - groups could accomplish more together than they could alone. Marshmallow test: could there be genes associated with this ability, what role then do they play on potential for success. When one individuas helps another, but in doing so he or she accrues some sort of cost. Behaviours that hep genetic relatives may be favoured by natural selec- tion.
