Stress involves any circumstances that threaten or are perceived to threaten one"s well-being and thereby tax ones coping abilities. Has a greater effect since this things build up. Stress can be viewed as a response that has cognitive physiological, and behavioural components. Stressed can be viewed as a transaction between the organism and the environment. Ambient stress: chronic environment conditions that also up not urgent are negatively valued and that place adaptive demands on people. Acute stressors: threatening events that have a short duration and a clear endpoint. Chronic stressors: threatening events that have a long duration and no readily apparent time limit. Frustration: occurs in any situation in which the pursuit of some goal is thwarted. Burnout: physical emotional exhaustion, and a lowered dense of self-efficacy that is attributable to work-related stress. Refers to efforts to master, reduce, or tolerate the demands created by a stressor.
