Stage 2: self-interested exchanges: preconventional level, different people have different self-interests, which sometimes conflict, compromise. Stage 3: interpersonal accord and conformity: conventional level, attempt to live up to the expectations of important others, what people expect of you, not fighting with people, do your chores, getting along with others, etc.
