Mobilizing the body"s resources for action increases heart rate, bp inhibits digestion: parasympathetic division. Deals with the biological bases of our thoughts, feelings, & behaviors. Neuropsychological tests measured of verbal and non-verbal behavior that are known to be effected by brain damage. Animal studies - areas of the brain are damaged or surgically remove and evaluate effect. Study effects of damage following, accident, stroke, or surgery. Specific regions of the brain can be stimulated with tiny electrodes & mild electric current.
