Hard to pin down and lots of contention. Broad brush: trafficking is a tern that has been used to describe a broad spectrum of criminal acts encompassing both labour and sexual exploitation. Organ trafficking, labour, sex: includes: sex tourism; child sex tourism, child pornography, exploitation in domestic, restaurant, agricultural, factory and sweat shop work, debt bondage, forced prostitution, forced begging, servile marriage, etc. 27 million currently in trafficking: subject to trafficking. 80 percent of transnational victims are females 50 percent of those are minors. 12. 3 million currently in bonded labour: ritual, domestic, etc. Since the end of the cold war, there has been a dramatic rise in trafficked women and girls. 1904: international agreement for the suppression of white slave traffic. Did not address prostitution but focused on the recruitment or forcing into prostitution. 1933: international convention of suppression of traffic of women of full age. 1949: ic supp of traffic persons and the exploitation of prostitution.
