Reason can be improved by experience, education and science. Most people even those with sub par intelligence could follow along with argument: ways of interacting with the world. Everything in natural world can be named. Science: the knowledge of consequences, and dependance of one fact upon another . If miracles do happen, it will be in the corporeal world. Self it orders decisions and makes them independently, although it may be considered a soul. Whether or not there is a soul is a problem with hobbes an aspect that is unclear: motivations. Ch 5 makes an effort to explain how everything we want gets tied back to our own desires, explains this with respect to pity (slide show) Philosophical egoist in some senses everything is organized around us and he says this is true about all of us read thyself if you need proof of this: reason. All humans have reason and are rational.
