Political objections to equality: equality is more controversial value than justice or liberty, some claim that equality expresses envy, promotes a culture of, equality has a very bad rap among political philosophers redistributive taxation. The respect and concern owed to them should be based on their status on citizens and nothing else (i. e. colour, religion, wealth: what people disagree on is what (cid:494)equal(cid:495) means to them, i. e. Nozick would believe it means respecting private property rights even though it would create massive inequalities in wealth: equality in distribution vs. Equality of opportunity: equality of opportunity is equally accepted across the board as being important, all except nozick who cares only about property rights, swift outlines three different type of equality of opportunity: Why would we make it harder for them if they(cid:495)re child who isn(cid:495)t bright, who would contribute less effectively to smart and can therefore better contribute to society than a rich society.
