Document Summary

Each segment of the spinal cord receives sensory input from a particular region of the body and supplies motor input to a similar region called a dermatome. Cranial nerves have 12 pairs that come directly off the brain. They take care of function in the head: three meninges (covering) cover the brain, dura mater (cid:862)hard (cid:373)other(cid:863)- against the skull, thick like leather, ara(cid:272)h(cid:374)oid (cid:862)spider(cid:863, pia mater (cid:862)ge(cid:374)tle (cid:373)other(cid:863)- directly attached to the brain or spinal cord. Cerebrospinal fluid (csf) is the clear fluid that exists between the arachnoid and pia mater: the ventricle system- csf is produced by choroid plexus, mostly found in the ventricle system in the brain. This system moves csf within the brain and transport in out to the subarachnoid space: lobes of the brain, frontal (front, parietal (top, behind frontal, occipital (back, temporal (side) Touch (somatosensation: skin types, hairy- arms and legs, glabrous (hairless)- palm.
