If we are going to have any knowledge whatsoever, including scienti c knowledge, then we must be able to overcome skepticism. Overcoming skepticism is a philosophical task, not a scienti c one. We cannot provide can ultimate justi cation for out belief. But we can study the causes of our beliefs. However, this investigation should not be carried out by means of a priori re ection.
