Philosophers must have power: there doesn"t seem to be anyone in power presently who is a philosopher. Book 6: this is where philosophy is different from other disciplines: philosophy was seen as useless. It"s not useful for anything: it"s useful if you want to be able to think clearly. Being able to think clearly when most people are thinking confusedly makes you the one confused because you"re not really listening to others: no one"s taking you seriously it"s a matter of fact.
