Inner-conflict = we do have egoistic motivations but we also have altruistic motivations. Question for wilson = why do we have this conflict. Somehow we are genetically programmed in a way to act so that our own gene lines are perpetuate. Body is just a vehicle to keep the gene line going. Women perpetuate their gene line by having a baby can"t do anything for 9 months before having another kid wants grandchildren and therefore wants the baby to stay alive (investment is in the individual baby. - would be a waste of time if the baby died) Strategy = not promiscuous, and want non promiscuous man so they can have help with the baby.
