Document Summary
We now have a procedure for analyzing arguments. We will add to our ability to assess adequacy in later units but the basic procedure introduced in unit 4 is now complete. We apply the procedure to some examples. (140) governments have a finite amount of money. From that they have to meet all of their obligations, including job creation. So some fraction of a government"s revenue is available for job creation. They can use this money directly to create jobs or indirectly through tax cuts to corporations, thereby giving corporations incentives to operate in the government"s territory, with a potential that jobs will be created. In the direct case 100% of the money goes to job creation. In the indirect case at most 100% of the money goes to job creation but given corporate greed, the figure is often much less.
