Historical materialism: socio-political structure (rests on economy and productive force) Economy (rests on productive force: productive force ** the driving force** Feudalism: lords/monarchs are owners of the land, different varieties of subjects: vessels: people the lord contracts for military services // you will fight for the king/ the lord. More economy than under the feudal regime, can exchange commodities: market becomes slightly more global, important change in the industry, burghers: middle class, economical, guildmasters: director of a certain industry. People working underneath the guild masters: proletariat: workers producing goods.
