Document Summary

People are binded by a social contract, where they agree to the laws of the states based upon agreed upon moral principles. I believe i can answer this question. (sci. 1) The social orderis founded upon convention (sci. 1) No man has a natural authority over his fellow man, and since force does not give rise to any right, conventions therefore remain the basis of all legitimate authority among men. (sci. 4) The structure of the argument is what philosophers call a disjunctive syllogism. Cannot be a nor b, therefore it is c. [a]ll are born equal and free [and] none give up their liberty except for their utility. (sci. 2) Aristotle was right, but he took the effect for the causeif there are slaves by nature, it is because there have been slaves against nature. (sci. 2) Force is a physical power; i fail to see what morality can result from its effects.
