Sex characteristics have their basis in biology we are biologically male/female or intersex based on our reproductive organs. Biological differences between the sexes include horomone production. Gender is something we apply to ourselves and eachother based on our sex. The strong association between sex and gendered characteristics leads us to believe that suck qualities or characteristics are inherent, biological, or natural . Biological determinism: the argument that differences in ability, demeanor, attitudes, and expectations are natural and rooted in biology. Gender is something we do: dress, hair, how we move and act. We perform gender according to a predetermined set of standards for what is masculine and what is feminine.
