Little published evidence to guide recommendations for employers/nurses. Implementing models of care delivery that support continuity of the nurse- individual-family relationship. Recognizing nurses" well-being and developing responsive strategies. Using the model to guide hospice palliative care (ferris et al. , 2002) to guide development of palliative and end-of-life care services. Recommendation: models of care delivery support the nurse, individual and family relationship. Need to better understand the ideal nursing model or nurse-client ratio for caring of imminently dying individuals and their families. Continuity of care is critical essential for therapeutic relationships. Nursing assignments that reflect individual client complexity and availability of resources facilitate quality care during end of life. Recommendation: organization recognizes that nurse"s wellbeing is a critical component of quality end of life care and adopt responsive strategies.
