Identify current behaviors that are considered addictions of concern to health. Is habitual psychological or physiologic dependence on a substance or practice that is beyond voluntary control: need assistance to help get control of the addiction, 25% of canadians suffer from alcohol addiction. Addiction: substance, nicotine, caffeine, drugs, marijuana, alcohol, behavioral, chemicals , gambling. Increased once casinos became legal: chocolate/food, sex, exercise/sports, shopping, facebook/internet/instaddict, phone, disrupts sleep, light and magnetic energy from the phone can affect the person, looking for that reward cycle -dopamine release, look for acute and chronic problems, ex. Broken bone in schizophrenic person: negative stroking recognising someone and acknowledging someone but not sure how to do it in a kind loving way, ex. Saying your hair is a mess instead of saying hello when you walk through the front door: positive stroking giving love and affection and acknowledgment/recognized.
