2: the degree of metaplasia determined the malignant potential. Invasion and metastasis: can spread or transfer cancerous cells from one organ to another body part by invasion and metastasis. Include exposure to sunlight or radiation, chronic irritation or inflammation, and tobacco use: uv exposure, fair skinned, blue/green eyed people, increase risk of skin cancers, use of clothing and sunscreen play a role in amount of uv light. Increased x ray exposure can lead to cancers: power plants increase risk of cancers. Chemical agents: chemicals can alter dna structure, liver, lungs, and kidneys are most affected because of their roles in detoxifying chemicals. Smoking causes many cancers: chewing tobaccos associated with oral cavity cancers. Dietary factors: linked to environmental cancers, fats, alcohol, salt cured or smoked meats, red and processed meats increase cancer risks. Increased consumption of fruits and vegetables is associated with a decreased risk of cancer in general: obesity increases risks of cancer.
