Brous cap forms subsequently lled with in ltrate and lipids - called atheroma or plaques. this narrows vessel and obstructs blood ow. Thrombus may cause : cardiac death (due to dysrhythmias) or an acute mi (death of a portion of the heart) Coronary arteries are esp vulnerable to atherosclerosis . Location and degree of narrowing of the arterial lumen.
