Metastasis: spread of malignant cells most common through lymphatics. Cells are more likely are less adherent and may break off. Determine presence and extent of tumour diagnose then biopsy. Adult: more likely to have malignancy with dx, little known re: prevention, very (more) responsive to treatment. % of people alive after cancer diagnosis. Most reported for a specific time period e. g. 5 years. 63% of cdns dx with cancer are expected to survive 5 years. 70% of new cancers occur > 60 years old.
