When we encounter less than quality practice, you have a choice to make be the role model of a professional nurse in the workplace. Representing the profession to the public wherever i go (what kind of image do i portray of the profession) Responsible for the future of my profession therefore i need to be involved in my professional associating. This is one way to be politically active (ex. Nurses represent all parts of society (union members, educators, in society etc).
