Relational practice (cid:498) a humanely involved process of respectful, compassionate, and authentically interested inquiry into another(cid:495)s (cid:523)and one(cid:495)s own(cid:524) experiences. (cid:499: care we give isn(cid:495)t just reduced to a set of skills. By relating, genuinely interested: are you comfortable when people have painful emotions, always be genuine. Continually ask yourself: what is my natural style of communicating, what do i bring to relationships, how might i enhance what i already bring, what habits serve me well, what habits constrain me, power of empathy. Initiative: authenticity, responsiveness, able to live ambiguity. In-sync: ability to accept that some things are uncertain and open to accept whatever that situation might bring. Initiative/ authenticity/responsiveness: reaching out, listening intently, suspending judgement or doubts, move beyond (cid:494)habits(cid:495) that block connection. Engage with complexity live in ambiguity: avoid (cid:494)reducing(cid:495) experiences to a single problem with a single answer, understand that human experiences are complex, be open to complexity, look at the patterns shaping the experiences, reserve judgement.
