Interested in sounds of everyday life and nature. E. g. interested in bells, filling glasses with water etc. Explored many different kinds of methods to create dissonance musical language. Modernist- goal to make progress/ innovate music, innovation not incompatible with beauty. Think of beautiful things as those we are familiar with.
