(cid:863) The series tends towards the critique side through its depiction of dating shows on reality television. Additionally, the comedic dramas use irony and parody to complicate and confuse textual analysis and the more literal frameworks common in role model analysis. Posing the argument that comedy as a genre foils the opportunity to present pure, authentic representations of women. That (cid:272)ould (cid:271)e per(cid:272)ei(cid:448)ed as a (cid:271)arrier, that this is (cid:449)h(cid:455) (cid:449)o(cid:373)e(cid:374) do(cid:374)"t do (cid:272)o(cid:373)ed(cid:455), are(cid:374)"t perceived as funny. But it could also be because of the narrative parameters of the text. Consider the way that bodies are expected to behave. Women have a heightened expectation of decorum in the way that they dress or look.
