A commonly used definition of cyborg society" is one in which human relationships are mediated and shaped by technology : this seems rather true today. Our mobile phones play a central role in our lives. Our lives are mediated by technology, and this has been true for quite some time. The progression of human life has been influenced substantially by technology. The capitalistic need to exploit and commodify has strengthened the ways in which phones are produced and consumed. The automobile was a defining commodity of the 20th century: importance stemmed from its ability to reflect and shape society. The ways in which automobiles were produced and consumed reflected 20 th century capitalism. People"s relationships to commodities are central to understanding society. The smartphone is arguably the defining commodity of our era. Capitalism"s creative and destructive tendencies result in constant reorganization of production networks. Countries in the global south have become export-oriented in order to further their own development.
