Construct validity: degree to which a test is an accurate measure of the construct (abstract, theoretical concept that explains behaviour) it purports to measure. Convergent validity: scores on a test converge with scores on other known tests of the construct (strong correlations between test results). Discriminant validity: scores on a test are unrelated to scores on tests of other constructs (personality test should not be the same as intelligence test) You hope for a strong correlation with convergent validity and a poor correlation with discriminant validity.
