When an organization has identified candidates whose applications meet basic requirements, the next step is employment tests. Two broad categories: aptitude tests: tests that assess how well a person can learn or acquire abilities. Best known aptitude test is the general aptitude test battery (gatb) Office skills test: asses the individuals aptitude for following directions, filing, arithmetic, checking, vocabulary: achievement tests: tests that measure a persons existing knowledge and skills. Before using tests organizations should investigates the test"s validity and reliability. Should consult impartial sources of information as well. Physical strength plays less of a role in the modern workforce. When physical abilities are essential to the job performance, or avoidance of injuries, an organization may use physical tests. Evaluate one or more of the following areas, muscular tension, muscular power, muscular endurance, flexibility, coordination, balance. These tests often exclude women and people with disabilities can make organizations vulnerable to human rights complaints.
