Most part time work is done by women (service jobs) Wage gap can be affected by the fields, position, etc. 16 months to make the same amount as men in 12 months. More in public than private sector, rarely ceo. Family obligations etc. can affect women in the work force. Introduction of family leave, maternity leave + parental leave (the other parent can take it) Overall societal stigma against male taking parental leave. The unseen, yet unbreakable barrier that keeps women from the upper rungs of the corporate ladder. The barrier is singular and only exists at the very top. The barrier is hard to see from far away. A complex journey towards a goal worth striving for. *human capital education, work experience, developmental opportunities, work-home conflict. Work experience + work-home conflict is a barrier, family onligations. Developmental is a barrier, certain profession less mentors to help women develop. *gender differences style & effectiveness, commitment & motivation, self-promotion, negotiation, traits.
