A concussion is traumatic brain injury form of a mild traumatic brain injury. In order to get a concussion, the brain is jolted, hit, whiplashed etc. Losing consciousness occurs in 20% of concussion cases. The severity of a concussion is based on symptoms and risk factors (ie. gender difference, whether they"ve had previous concussions etc. ) Exercise should be limited in concussion recovery depending on the case tailor exercise to that individual. Concussion: a type of tbi causes by a bump, bow, or jolt to the head or by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth. Post concussion syndrome: experiencing a variety of symptoms after 6 weeks of the concussion. Concussions cause the meninges to collide with the skull, resulting in brain disfunction (ie. bleeding within brain tissue, bruising) Different symptoms occur with different causes of concussion (ie. jolted vs. hit) Cerebral spinal uid protects the brain (neurons) from the skull.
