Kinesiology 4585 Lecture 4: Patellar Stabilization, AC joint

44 views1 pages

Document Summary

Trying to keep the patella centered decreases lateral movement of patella: can use ktape or leuko. Cut half the distance of tape that is needed will stretch: proximal and distal ends have no stretch through it when placing down, round the edges of the ktape. Start midline, half c around lateral patella and ending at tibial tubercle. Can take another piece from lateral medial over the patella: pull hard over hamstring tendons, more gentle over patella and hard again. Hypafix c around the lateral knee (full sheet) Can cut it in 2 pieces to wrap around. Can put leuko right on skin though. Follow same c shape harder to bend but can rip a little for better movement.
