Document Summary

Considerations: fuel use/fatigue is determined by, exercise intensity, exercise duration. Low intensity (many hours): fuel is from fat primarily due to vast store of fat. Fatigue determined by hypoglycemia (low blood glucose), dehydration (perhaps loss of minerals) During these long hour efforts, majority of fuel is coming from fat stores in the muscle and cho around the body. Longer you exercise, the more you rely on fat. Fatigue is determined by available fuel (cho the major fuel in intense exercise) Even if you were to rely exclusively on fat, you could exercise for very long time before you run out. nobody exercises for long enough to fatigue b/c run out of body fat. Even the leanest people have a vast amount of fat storage. even if you only relied on fat, could work out for a week or two 24 hours a day w/o running out of fat. This can be the cause of fatigue.
