Linear motion- object forced to move in a line. Axis of rotation- if a system is restricted or secured so the system rotates around this point is called axis of rotation. The resultant motion of system is called rotary or angular motion. Eg. nodding no and second hand of the clock. Angular displacement- change in location of rotating body. Radius of rotation- distance from any point on the rotating segment to the axis of rotation. Mediolateral axis - axis running side to side relative to body, also called y axis. So flexion of the elbow is an example. It is linked with sagittal plane, which divides body into left and right. Frontal plane and anteroposterior axis- runs through front and back of the body.
