Don"t have a hole like a foramen but has a slash in the. Incomplete in some of their sutures which we call fissures. They act in the same way as foramen, act as a passageway for nerves and vessels. Superior orbital fissure and inferior orbital fissure are continuous with one another. Acts as a protective space for the central nervous. Cervical forms after 3 months when the baby can hold up their own head, when the muscles properly form in this region. Lumbar starts to form when a child starts walking, the muscles become fully developed and form this curvature. Lordosis is exaggeration of the lumbar curvature, it is enhanced, can be developmental issue or obesity. There is a balance between mobility and stability/protection. Parasagittal view is a curved appearance of the vertebral column, this set up is not very stable. This curve allows us to be very mobile. Sacral 5 vertebrae fully fused in mid 30"s, s1- s5.
