Mediating ex. temp affects time to complete a 10k, as you get older temp. can affect your 10k but doesn"t really affect it when you are younger age would be the mediating variable. Positive linear ex. relationship between weight and height: as height increases, so does weight (remember that there are always exceptions to the rules) Negative linear ex. golf score and years of experience as years increase, golf score decreases. Little kid isn"t very strong younger you are, weaker you"re going to be. This peaks, probably in your 20s, and after that as you age you"re going to get less and less strong. No relationship ex. mark on assignment #1 vs. # episodes of making a murderer . These are 4 general trends but there are many more. Variables can be strongly related or weekly. Every rule has exceptions and not everyone will fit a certain pattern.
