Kinesiology 1070A/B Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Systematic Review, Cupul, Biofeedback
Document Summary
Physical activity and sedentary behaviour subsequent orthopaedic injury: a systematic review. Levels of physical activity are alarming low and levels of sedentary behaviour are alarmingly high following orthopaedic injury (pa= 1% and sb 76-99% sitting or reclining) More research is needed on the impact of the immobility on orthoepic injury outcomes and the risk of chronic disease. Increase physical activity and reducing sedentary behaviour in this population seems warranted. Cognitive appraisal: when someone looks at a situation, and feels that the demands of the situation exceeds their resourced capabilities it will create a level of stress or stress response. Physiological changes: when someone is stressed they will experience physical uctuations (heart rate, breathing etc. will increase without physical exertion due to stress) Attentional demand: when people get stressed they narrowly focus on problems/ stressors ( i didn"t see the hit coming ).
