People with head injuries, communication dysfunction is a difficult aspect within patients with neurological disorders. Broca wanted to know why people developed inability to speak, inability to producing speech, a speech production deficit. Findings that (frontal lobe area in the left hemisphere) the region of broca"s region had a lesion. Broca"s aphasia patient cannot produce speech, he knows what he wants to say but cannot say it out loud. The person understands language, they can read, they can communicate but not through speech, understand language but just cannot produce speech. They get frustrated because they know what they want to say but the motor pathway cannot let them speak. Left hemisphere stroke and identification of broca"s area. People with broca"s aphasia has difficulty producing speech. Give normal instructions on what you want them to do in the rehab, only problem is their own difficulty communicating and disruptive slow laborious speech.
